About the job

The Clinical Systems Admin team are a crucial cog in the workings of the day-to-day radiology imaging service Cobalt provides to patients, ensuring that scans are transferred promptly to ensure quick diagnosis of their medical concerns and conditions.

Reporting to the IT line manager, you will be working within the wider IT department of six at Cobalt’s Imaging Centre in Cheltenham. You will work by rotational shifts covering hours from 8am until 6pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work if required.

Your key responsibilities will include facilitating the prompt and secure transfer of images acquired to referrers, patients and medical organisations. You will also be supporting the use of our clinical information systems including a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and a Radiology Information System (RIS), an online image viewing system and image transfer systems. As well as the IT department, you will work closely with all clinical departments within Cobalt.

About you

The skills, experience and knowledge required for this role are sound demonstrable educational background and qualifications, good IT skills, as well as strong communication and organisational capabilities. Experience of working within a healthcare setting would be beneficial but not mandatory.

A helpful and caring telephone manner will be required. Being part of a team and working collaboratively within Cobalt but also with external colleagues will be crucial for this role. A meticulous approach to accuracy and detail is another beneficial attribute, with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
