Join our team as a Bank Paramedic
We are looking for skilled paramedics or emergency care practitioners to join our paramedic bank. The role will be made up of ad hoc shifts in various locations to support the clinical team of radiographers working in the radiology units where contrast media and other medicines are administered as part of the patient examination.
Diagnostic radiology departments are at Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham, Quayside Community Diagnostic Centre in Gloucester and a brand-new community diagnostic centre at Corbett Treatment Centre, Stourbridge. There may be other locations on occasion as required by the services.
Shifts will vary by location but will usually be 8.00am to 8.00pm or 8.00am to 6.00pm
Job role
You will provide clinical interventions in emergencies which may include the management of adverse reactions, anaphylaxis and resuscitation, co-ordinating appropriate clinical response and the onward care of patients. You will undertake patient cannulation procedures and support the radiographers with patient set up on scanners, greeting patients and other administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the scanning lists.
Responsibilities will include administering medication under Patient Group Directive guidelines as required during emergency interventions, delivering high quality care to patients, communicating effectively, assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with complex health conditions and manage patients who may be deteriorating; as well as providing clinical supervision and guidance to other health professionals, and maintaining accurate and full records of emergency incidents and treatments.
You must have a current substantive post in emergency services, HCPC registration and an up-to-date CPD portfolio.
Bank rate
A competitive paramedic bank rate is provided depending on experience.
