Cobalt is an innovative and dynamic medical imaging charity delivering advanced diagnostic imaging services across the country to the NHS and private sector. Our fleet of MRI scanners delivers the latest technologies in MRI imaging, including 1.5Tesla and the only 3.0Tesla mobile MR systems in the UK.
We are seeking enthusiastic, and highly motivated graduate Radiographers who are looking to progress and take the next steps in their careers by joining our team as part of our MRI Trainee Programme.
Based at our Cheltenham Imaging Centre, the MRI Trainee Programme offers a structured education and development package that covers all aspects of MRI; safety, physics and basic and advanced imaging techniques. You will benefit from rotation on the MRI mobile services at different speciality sites, gaining experience across a range of Philips and Siemens MRI systems with leading software and digital hardware platforms. The mobile MRI fleet includes Europe's first 3.0 Tesla mobile MRI service, and 1.5 Tesla wide-bore digital scanners.
The Programme is delivered through supportive clinical working, and you will be challenged with practical and written assessments as well as producing your own personal development plan. Study time will be provided however, some of the programme objectives will require you to study additional resources in your own time.
As a Cobalt MRI Radiographer your high level of professionalism, technical skills and strong patient care will reflect the Charity’s values and ensure a safe, reliable and efficient MRI service is maintained for all our patients.
Training and study
We will provide access to online learning resources such as Anatomy.tv, ImagingU — an education resource for technologists, radiologists, and imaging professionals, and other helpful websites and imaging journals. Scanning sessions are supervised by a senior member of staff giving you the opportunity to learn from and work with a very experienced, supportive team. One-to-one teaching sessions are provided to cover more complex topics and group sessions are taught periodically. The Society and College of Radiographers IV cannulation approved course is included as well as several in-house lectures and courses. We’re always keen to develop the team therefore there are opportunities for further study and courses such as postgraduate study in MRI after your training is complete.
