About Cobalt

Cobalt Health (Cobalt) is a medical charity established in 1964 with a vision to pioneer innovation in medical imaging diagnosis. The Charity not only invests in the latest imaging technology but also in people, integrated research and education. Each year, Cobalt provides diagnostic imaging for over 130,000 patients through imaging centres in Cheltenham and Birmingham and a fleet of seventeen MRI, CT and PET/CT mobile and modular scanners. The Charity is also the leading provider of ultra-low dose CT, supporting the Targeted Lung Health Check programme in the UK, working in partnership with the NHS.

Cobalt not only funds external NHS research posts but also participates in research on a national and international basis. The Charity also provides training programmes for medical professionals and supports undergraduate radiography students with clinical placements.

We are looking for a new Chair and two Trustees to drive forward our charity's mission during a period of exciting growth. We are fortunate to have a board with a broad range of skills, and are looking to add to the skillsets represented through these appointments.

We are seeking individuals with broad commercial and financial nous, which can be gained in any sector, perhaps in an entrepreneurial setting; and individuals who are medically qualified, experience in research, or in the fields of dementia / oncology / radiology would be beneficial but is not required. Above all, you will share Cobalt's commitment to delivering high-quality medical services which improve outcomes for patients now and in the future.
